SOL.TIOX. Srl was founded with the aim of enhancing and relaunching one of the most strategic industrial sites for Italian and European basic chemistry. Through the acquisition of the Scarlino (GR) plant — the only titanium dioxide production facility in Italy — the Sol.Mar. Group has brought renewed importance to an industrial site that, since 1970, has been a benchmark in the titanium dioxide (TiO₂) market — one of the pigments with the highest refractive index available — with extensive expertise in the development and production of highly specialised sulfate-based products and formulations designed to meet the standards of our most demanding customers.
Products
In over 50 years of activity, the Scarlino plant has consolidated its reputation as an experienced leading global producer in the sulfate-based TiO₂ sector, able to offer a wide range of pigments in both rutile and anatase forms, marketed worldwide under established brands. Our products are used across a wide range of industries: inks, coatings, plastics, fibres, cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceuticals, food, and infrared-reflective titanium dioxide applications.
Titanium dioxide
Titanium dioxide is the best white pigment available, because it has the optical properties needed to provide every application, through proper dispersion, with a high level of opacity and exceptional whiteness. These characteristics make it indispensable in the most diverse everyday applications, such as paints and coatings, plastics, inks, cosmetics and personal care products, paper, and products for the pharmaceutical and food industries.
