SOL.TIOX. Srl was established with the objective of enhancing and relaunching one of the most strategic industrial sites for Italian and European basic chemistry. With the acquisition of the Scarlino (GR) plant – the only titanium dioxide production facility in Italy – the SolMar Group has restored cen- trality to an industrial reality that, since 1970, has represented a reference point in the titanium dioxide (TiO₂) market – the pigment with the highest reflective index – boasting extensive experience in the development and production of sulfate-based products, highly specialized grades, and formulations designed to meet the standards of our most demanding customers.

Sol.Mar. is an industrial group with entirely Ita- lian capital operating in basic chemistry and, through Nuova Solmine SpA in particular, it is a leader in Italy and in the Mediterranean in the production and marketing of sulfuric acid and oleum with a high degree of purity. The renewed integration with this production entity, located on the same industrial site and with which it shares its origins, enables SOL. TIOX. production plant to operate within a ful- ly integrated chemical value chain, ensuring production continuity, consistent quality, and security of supply.

In over fifty years of activity, the Scarlino site has built a solid international reputation in the production of sulfate-based titanium dioxi- de, developing rutile and anatase pigments appreciated for their purity, reliability, and application performance. Today, SOL.TIOX. combines this long-stan- ding experience with an industrial vision focused on innovation, sustainability, and advanced technical service.
